Before beginning the long drive back toward Florida, we wanted to start the day with Sunday Mass at St. Lucy Parish in Campbell, California. It was a meaningful way to conclude our time in the San Jose area after celebrating our nephew’s wedding and exploring Northern California. The parish offered a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with parishioners greeting one another and visitors feeling right at home. Beginning the return trip with prayer and worship provided a peaceful moment of reflection before several days of driving across the country.
The church itself is beautiful, featuring a bright and inviting sanctuary that encourages quiet prayer and reflection. The celebration of the Mass was reverent and inspiring, with uplifting music, thoughtful scripture readings, and a homily that reminded us to carry our faith into everyday life—including while traveling. It was comforting to celebrate the Eucharist with a local parish community hundreds of miles from home, yet still experience the familiar traditions of the Catholic Church.
As we left St. Lucy Parish and began the journey east, we reflected on the many blessings we had experienced throughout our trip—from breathtaking national parks and scenic coastlines to time spent with family celebrating a joyful wedding. Our visit to St. Lucy Parish served as a fitting conclusion to our California stay, allowing us to thank God for safe travels and pray for His continued protection on the thousands of miles that still lay ahead. For travelers visiting the Campbell or San Jose area, St. Lucy Parish is a welcoming place to attend Mass and begin the next chapter of your journey with faith and gratitude.
